We at Chapel Hill are excited, as we are finally able to announce our new Pastor! He is Brother Greg Shannon, and he has been the Pastor at Hardinsburg United Methodist Church for the last 16 years. We asked him to write a short introduction so you can begin the process of getting to know him and his family.  He sent us the following:

Chapel Hill Family,

My family and I cannot wait to meet you, worship with you, and get to know you. We have been blown away the past week and a half by God’s provision. I believe that God has opened doors that no one else could have opened. There is no explanation for both my wife and I to have been offered jobs just 14 hours apart other than God paving the way. Nissa is a Special Education Teacher and will be working at North Middle School this year. Just like a popular, contemporary Christian song by Big Daddy Weave says, “God is in this story,” and “God is in the details.” That has been evident during every step of this journey so far.  

I would love to share with you a little about myself. I have been in ministry for 32 years, with the last 16 years being in Breckinridge County. My wife, Nissa, and I have raised six amazing kids. All are adults and each working to find their place in this world. We have teachers, band directors, choir directors, guidance counselors, and camp counselors and are very proud of each of them. Three of our children are married. We have one beautiful 5-month-old granddaughter and another grandchild on the way in December. We have always been a big family and thank God that he is continuing to bless us and grow our family.

We are excited to be moving to Henderson (as soon as we find a place to live)! We know that God will provide – it’s just another detail He will work out. Continue to pray for our family as we make this transition. We cannot wait to worship and grow with you!
